SECOND AMENDMENT
The Second Amendment to the Constitution is the one that protects
the other amendments. If “We the people” don’t
have the ability to protect ourselves, our families, our properties,
our communities, and our country, we can expect another person,
our government, or another government, to bully us around and
tell us what to do.
I believe the right to protect one’s family and property
is a God-given right. Any effort by government to usurp that
right or the ability to exercise that right is a reduction of
my standing as a human being.
The Second Amendment is about much more than hunting or sport
shooting. It is about much more than a militia. It is about
the right of a free people to defend against any foe, domestic
or foreign.
If elected Governor of Oregon I will never sign any legislation
that reduces or takes away that right.
